My night with Ne-Yo was hot, passionate, exciting, wild, fun but DECENT. Yes guys, it was clean fun. We didn’t kiss & we didn’t fuck. Ne-Yo’s such a true gentleman. I was so lucky to be invited to Ne-Yo’s VIP party last night. Thanks to my friend Clifford McGhee, whom I met 3 years ago when he danced for Beyonce, and now Ne-Yo. The Mocha Girls and I went to Martini Bar at Mandarin Oriental to meet up with the whole Ne-Yo entourage. I called up my good friend Daiana Menezes to join us and when she arrived we all transferred to another café/bar in Greenbelt. We weren’t feeling the place cuz the music sucked and the people too. One of Ne-Yo’s band member approached me and said he over heard some people saying, “Who’s Ne-Yo? Who’s Ne-Yo?” I was so pissed! I told him- “Fuck them! Let’s get out of here!” Who doesn’t know Ne-Yo?! I can’t believe how rude people can be. He’s a Grammy Award Winning Artist for crying out loud! He has received 3 awards from 11 nominations – Best Contemporary R&B Album(Because of You 2007) , Best Male R&B Vocal Performance & Best R&B Song (Miss Independent 2009). Ne-Yo also collaborates with several artists. His works include: Rihanna’s top-ten single “Unfaithful” and her number 1 hit “Take a Bow”. He also wrote Beyonce’s number 1 single “Irreplaceable” (to the left, to the left) which stayed on the charts for 10 consecutive weeks! Among Ne-Yo’s hit songs are CLOSER, SO SICK, GO ON GIRL and a lot more.
I’ve been with Beyonce’s VIP entourage 3 years ago when she came here. I rode with them on their tour bus on the way to the after party. They told me people are not allowed to take photos with Beyonce and she doesn’t mingle with her fans. So she just stayed at the hotel. Even the General Manager and staff of their hotel sponsor were not given a chance for a photo op. I was also given VIP pass to Pussycat Dolls meet and greet last year. I was so disappointed cuz they weren’t allowed to sign albums and take photos. We were only given one minute to see them face to face. They wouldn’t even shake our hands because of the swine flu scare. (Weren’t there more cases in the US than in any other part of the world?)
You can see on the video how very accommodating Ne-Yo was to us and to other people he didn’t know. He’s so humble and modest you’d forget he was a star! He was mingling with us like he was just an ordinary person. But this guy is a world-class song writer and performer! He’s so not like the other artists. Check out his vids on youtube! He’s one of a kind!
I’m a big fan of his songs but not crazy for him as I am with Beyonce and the Pussycat Dolls. But after my experience with him last night, I became his biggest fan.
