I have just been officially launched as breast cancer awareness advocate on FHM. My advocacy is to encourage women to perform regular breast examination to detect cancer before it’s too late. This photo shoot is very special to me because I went naked for a cause . Pls. support my advocacy, suggest my facebook page to friends http://www.facebook.com/mochausonblog .
Here’s the behind-the-scene video of my photo shoot.
Boobs Rock! charity t-shirts for sale (P500)! Last Aug 17, 2010, my first fund raiser called Cleavage Night was held at Mugen Bar. It was a breast cancer awareness benefit show which featured various artists/bands such as – Jay Durias, Kris Lawrence & South Border, Nyoy Volante, 6 CycleMind, True Faith, Calla Lily, Ruffa Mi, Baby Belle and of course the Mocha Girls. The event was hosted by Daiana Menezes, Grace Lee and Boys Night Out of Magic 89.9. I was overwhelmed at the willingness of these great and talented artists to participate in this charitable event. I want to thank all of them for making a difference in the lives of breast cancer victims especially my mom.
Ever since my mom was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer last March 2010, I have been committed to increase breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer is the next biggest killer after lung cancer among women. It is a disease in which certain cells in the breast become abnormal and multiply without control or order to form a tumor.
The exact cause or causes of breast cancer remain unknown. There is no definitive way of preventing it. The key is early detection.
Early breast cancer usually does not cause symptoms. This is why regular breast exams are important.
The best way to find breast lumps is to do 3 things:
Have regular mammograms (usually every 2 years starting at age 50. If you are under 50, talk to your doctor about your risk factors for breast cancer, including your family history, to decide whether regular mammogram screenings are appropriate for you).
Have your doctor check your breasts.
Breast Self-Examination (BSE)
Doing breast self-examination (BSE) monthly may help a woman find suspicious changes that may be signs of cancer. It includes looking at and feeling your breast. Use the pads of the fingers of your hand to check your breast and the surrounding area firmly, carefully, and thoroughly. Any unusual changes should be reported to your doctor.
Signs to look for:
Development of a lump
A discharge other than breast milk
Swelling of your breast
Skin irritation or dimpling
Nipple abnormalities (such as pain, redness, scaliness, or turning inward)
The best time to do BSE is several days or one week after a woman’s period. These are the days when the breasts are least likely to be tender or swollen.
Here are some pics of me performing breast self-exam. Can someone lend me a hand?
I first started blogging on the now-defunct MAXIM Magazine Philippines. In my blogs, I have always incorporated bisexualism. Since then, many have emailed and PM me asking a lot of questions about bisexualism . And now with my new Mocha Girls Jhane & Mae, I was so surprised to find out that they are BICURIOUS. So what is BI CURIOUS? What is BISEXUAL? And what is a LESBIAN?
What is a Lesbian? When you are a lesbian, you like women. You’re sexually attracted to women. You want to have sex with women. You want to build a life with a woman, have relationships with women ONLY.
WHAT IS BISEXUAL? When you are Bisexual, you like both men and women. You are sexually attracted to both men and women. You want to have sex with women and men. You want to have relationships with either. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE HAD SEX WITH SAME SEX to be called BISEXUAL. The fact that in your heart you like and desire both men and women makes you a Bisexual.
WHAT IS BICURIOUS? There are many definitions of “BICURIOUS” but there is one common description. You are BICURIOUS when you are not sure of your sexuality. You find yourself attracted to both men and women. BICURIOUS people have or haven’t acted on their sexual desire. They are confused and still afraid to admit that they are Bisexual. If Mae and Jhane are bicurious, does it mean they’re bisexual? I don’t want to spill the beans early. Get a copy of FHM July issue and find out for yourself.
I am proud to say that I am BISEXUAL. I am attracted to both men and women. I had BF & GF in the past. I’ve had sex with both Men and Women. I have celebrity crushes and I fantasize about them- Rhian Ramos, Dingdong Dantes, Saida of EB BABES and many more. Many girls have approached me telling me that they’re confused about their sexuality. They have boyfriends but they find themselves fantasizing about women. I’m also surprised to receive emails from girls as young as 16 telling me about their experiences with the same sex. They wanted to know if they’re bisexual. There is one thing that I would like to share with them – IF YOU LIKE GIRLS & GUYS, whether you have or haven’t had sex with them, YOU ARE BISEXUAL. If you like, love or desire girls but still prefer to have relationships with guys – YOU ARE BISEXUAL. Be proud and don’t be afraid of what other people think.
Your sexual orientation does not determine who you are or what you do. My advocacy is to change people’s perspective on bisexualism. As I have said before, I wish all women were bisexual. If all women would learn to appreciate, love and embrace other women- the world would be a much better place. No more catfights, no insecurity.
Ever since the ex- Mocha girls and I parted ways, there have been rumors circulating on the Internet that the MOCHA GIRLS has disbanded. It was spreading like wild fire! Because of this, I lost numerous corporate shows – money that I could’ve used for my mom’s chemotherapy. First of all, there’s NO TRUTH to the rumor that the MOCHA GIRLS has disbanded or dissolved. The old members were REPLACED. Therefore, MOCHA GIRLS are still intact and functioning.
The new MOCHA GIRLS are Jhane Santiaguel and Mae dela Cerna. Jhane is from our sister band Caramel. She’s a good singer and dancer. We were surprised to discover that she’s also a good guitarist. Her major musical influence is Avril Lavigne. She says she’s a little “complicated” when it comes to love and relationships. She’s only 20 years old but thinks and acts like a mature woman. She’s an extremely confident and straightforward person and I love her for that. I know she’ll go a long way with her exquisite talent and feisty attitude.
Mae dela Cerna is no stranger to the public eye. She was a former member of EB Babes. I was so excited about her addition to the group because she’s famous and she has a fan base. I was completely humbled. I was also greatly surprised how super nice she is as a person and a friend. Aside from being a good dancer, she also has a knack for acting. Btw, did I mention that she can sing too?
I am so happy with the overwhelming positive feedback from clients, bar owners and supporters. They said they like the new members more and they think they’re hotter. I think they’re really hot too. I like mestizas. A lot of people are asking me naughty questions about them like, “have you ever kissed them or made out with them?”. If you really want to know , then check them out on FHM July issue. Mae is also FHM’s Babe Online for the month of June. Visit fhm.com.ph and watch Mae as she reveals her sexy side.
I have moved on but apparently some people haven’t. A lot of people keep asking me how I feel about them and their supporters back-stabbing and bad-mouthing me. Of course I’m hurt. They were like my family, the former Mocha Girls- Bez, Grace and Hershey. (Heart was still under probation when she was asked by my manager to leave the group. Therefore, she was NEVER a Mocha Girl.) Right now, I’m dealing with lies, rumors and people attacking me. I did my best in talking with Hershey to stop the slandering from their camp. Unfortunately, I was denied. But it’s ok cuz I have forgiven them in my heart. I only have two choices- give up or move on. I choose to move on. This will be the last time that I’m going to talk about the former Mocha Girls and the break-up.
So what’s the next step for the new Mocha Girls? I want to train Jhane and Mae to be the best performers that they can be. They’ve got so much talent and I know they’ll go a long way. I want them to learn to stand and perform on their own in the near future. Groups don’t last forever. But as long as I’m here, I’m going to teach them everything I know. I’m so proud to say that they’re bi-curious and open-minded. I’m willing to teach them everything they want to know about love, relationship and sex. I know it’s been a long while since I last posted here on my blog. I will be updating my blog once a week. I’m excited to write again because I’m taking Mae and Jhane with me to my journey to sexual discovery and experimentation.
Guam is such a lovely island. It’s a beautiful place to be. Thanks to Steve Hardy, number 1 photographer on Guam, for providing these amazing photos! Even if it was my third time on Guam, I was still excited to go and perform with my band. Guam is safe, peaceful and quiet. I’ve been longing to get away from the hustle and bustle of Manila. Thanks to our producer Jemuel Luciano for making this happen. It was a month long tour compared to our 1st and 2nd which only took a few weeks.
It was our first time to perform at Karisma lounge located along Dededo. It’s no Hard Rock Café, but I was eager to perform for all the Filipinos out there. I was excited to showcase my group and my band. The first week was very successful. A lot of people came and enjoyed our shows. Besides the positive response, the owner of Karisma, (Wenefredo E.Gallega) didn’t seem to be happy. Oh well, I can’t please everyone, I thought to myself. Then I found out, the reason why he wasn’t so ecstatic about me was that he had a different agenda. He didn’t care about quality performance. He was complaining to our manager why do I go home right away after the show. He said that I should stay longer, sit with several guests and order inflated priced ladies drinks. He said that this was the only way his bar will earn. And besides, I’ll also benefit from the commission (drinkback), he said. He even tried to convince me by saying that all famous celebrities that came to Guam did that. Well I AM sorry Mr. Wenefredo E.Gallega, but I AM not a GRO. I can sit and mingle with the audience if I want. In fact, I do that all the time here in the PI. They don’t even have to buy me drinks. I love hanging out with our audience cuz I consider them as friends. You should’ve just hired GROs instead of me if you believe this was the only way for your bar to earn big.
What is a GRO?
“A girl working in a club or bar in the Philippines to keep male customers company. The “Guest Relations Officer” or GRO always gets the men to buy her inflated priced “Ladies Drinks” that she gets a monetary kickback from. Nearly all GROs are prostitutes who can be “Bar Fined” and taken from the bar for short time or long time sex. Nearly all GROs fall under the auspices of the “Maddam” and live at the bar or in substandard dormitories provided by the bar.” – urbandictionary.com
I have nothing against GROs. I’m not even judging them. They chose this kind of job for a living and I respect that. But I didn’t come to Guam to be a GRO. This is the problem with the entertainment scene on Guam. Bar owners hire legit artists from the Philippines and convince them to become GROs, indirectly. They will tell the artists that the people came to watch their show and so in return they have to thank them, sit down and eventually order ladies drinks. A lot of artists are tempted to continue this activity because they get more money from the kickback than their actual salary. Because of this, the artists become more focused on this activity rather than their performance. Money changes everything- including people’s behavior and motivation. We all need money. Who doesn’t? But I will not do any activity that will compromise my integrity. It’s all I’ve got in this world. All performers on Guam are perceived as GROs. I’ll never forget when I was walking to my dressing room, a Filipino guy in his slippers went up to me and asked, “Mocha, pwede ka bang i-table?” (Can you be my GRO for tonight?) I very firmly replied, “I DONT DO THAT!”.
Obviously, Mr. Wenefredo E.Gallega wasn’t happy with me. So what did this unprofessional man do? He spread rumors to destroy my band and me. He even bad-mouthed our producer JEMUEL LUCIANO. I’m sorry, but as they say, THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN RUMORS ARE MORE STUPID THAN THE GOSSIPER.
I will make a stand for FILIPINO ARTISTS and I will make a difference in my own little way. I will not be like the others because of MONEY. And THOSE who believe you Mr. Wenefredo E.Gallega, I pity them. You are not only destroying them but the image of all FILIPINO ARTISTS as well. And those who patronize this kind of system, especially the Filipinos – you are complaining that our Government is corrupt but you yourselves are blinded by Money. As they say, If You Want to Make Change, Start With Yourself—- “AKO ANG SIMULA”
My third time on Guam was a bittersweet experience. But I’ll never forget the people who came to watch our show and appreciate our work. Thanks to the old woman who gave me 20-dollar tip because she was so happy that I danced with her. Thanks to the waiter at Karisma for the mini-chocolates, which he bought with his own money. These small gestures mean so much to me because they’re sincere and they appreciate me for who I am. Many thanks to those who gave candies, food, stuff toys and gifts on our last night of performance.
Thanks also to - Fiesta Resort for the wonderful accommodation and YPAO Express Kitchen (Ate Esther) for the delicious food.
Thanks to my producers Jemuel & Joan Luciano. Thanks to my Manager/Musical Director LORD BYRON CRISTOBAL. And most of all to my Band — ICE BAND- Mark, Manuel, Kokoy and Karlo.
Here’s the behind-the-scene video from my photoshoot at Namu Falls – the highlight of my Guam trip. Thanks once again to Steve Hardy. I can’t thank you enough for everything.
My Facebook friend “JUNIE” requested for higher resolution of my photos for his collections. Here are some photos you can use for your WALLPAPER, SCREEN SAVER or print and post on your room in case of “EMERGENCY” (wink)

I just had the best waterfall photo shoot experience today. It was a clear blue sky- the most perfect day. I was scared at first because I had to walk through the slippery mud and cross the lake to get to the waterfall. Good thing I brought my aqua shoes. I was holding on for dear life cuz the waterfall was raging and strong. But it was all worth it. The experience was refreshing and exhilarating! Here are some behind-the-scene photos from the shoot. Watch out for more pics!
There are a lot of fun things to do here on Guam. Beach pictorials is one of my favorites. The beach is gorgeous and the sunset is amazing. Yesterday, the Mocha Girls and I went to the War in the Pacific National Historical Park for our 2011 calendar photo shoot. It was the perfect sunset and we were so happy with the photos.

After the shoot, we were so tired and hungry. We went straight to a great restaurant called PROA in Tumon and ordered Hibachi-style Chicken (bbq). It’s the best Guamanian restaurant for me. The girls wanted to unwind and have a few drinks so we went to Red Bar. Hershey, Bez and Heart ordered Flaming Lamborghini. I thought it was too crazy a drink for me so I ordered 2 Blow Jobs and 1 Green Mofo instead.
After a few more shots, my friend Crisselda Volks arrived. She was on Guam for 3 weeks and she’s leaving the next day so we decided to hang out before she left. We didn’t stay long cuz the bar was closing at 12mn. It was a Monday night and most of the bars on Guam close early. So Criselda and I decided to go back to the hotel to hang out some more.
I HATE CRABS! Crabs are people who don’t want to see other people succeed. According to Wikipedia, crab mentality is a way of thinking best described by the phrase “If I can’t have it, neither can you.” The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs in which one tries to escape over the side, but is relentlessly pulled down by the others in the pot. This term is especially widely used among Filipinos. If you’re Filipino, you will truly know how it feels. These envious people will find fault in anything and everything so they’ll feel good about themselves. They’re everywhere- US, Europe, Asia, even here on Guam- Filipinos destroying fellow Filipinos’ reputation. This culture is slowly destroying the Filipino community.
I, myself, have not been spared by these people I call crabs . I am a performance artist striving for perfection. I give my 110% in all of my shows because I believe the audiences, especially fellow Filipinos abroad, deserve my very best. It can get pretty exhausting because I sing, dance and host at the same time. So when the 1st set is done I go straight to the dressing room to rest and save my energy for the 2nd set of the show. During the break, I would go out and say hi to some guests because they wanted to meet me. Some guys would offer me drinks and would want me to sit down with them. I told them that I can’t sit down and I can’t stay long because I need to go back to the dressing room. There was this one Filipino guy who bought my calendar so I had to go to his table and sign it. He gave me a drink and he told to me to sit down with him. I told him I can’t. And he said, “I bought you a drink therefore you are obliged to sit down with me!” “If that’s the case then I’ll cancel it for you”, I retorted. I hate arrogant men! Since then, people are spreading rumors about me that the reason why I don’t sit down with male guests is that I have a boyfriend or a sugar daddy. What the fuck?! But if I sit down and drink with them, I’d be tagged as a whore! This really irritates me! I can drink and sit with anyone if I wanted to. If you’re a gentleman and if you have sense of humor, then it would be difficult for me not to like you. You’re not obliged to buy me a drink. But since I’m NOT in my own country right now, I need to be careful of my actions. Sadly, Filipina entertainers are often stigmatized as prostitutes and were deported back to the Philippines. But NOT ALL FILIPINAS ARE WHORES. I HOPE our fellow Filipinos would start appreciating and supporting us rather than destroying and bringing us down. STOP crab mentality right NOW!
Hi everyone. I used to have a monthly photo blog on Maxim Phils. Sad to say, Maxim has just released it’s final issue ever. But my blog must go on and so I decided to continue it here. www.mochauson.com —MOCHA USON
